Music Library
One of the largest public music libraries in the United States, the School of Music Library squeezes in a core collection of more than 765,000 volumes, special collections, study and listening carrels, work tables, and conference and listening rooms. And the library is still just in its growing stage. Among the Library's special holdings are more than 1,500 microfilms of Renaissance polyphonic music manuscripts; 10,000 theses and dissertations in music education; about 100,000 items of American vocal sheet music from 1830 to 1970; performer's collections from violinists Joseph Szigeti and Paul Rolland and pianist Raphael Joseffy; 13,000 plus titles for Russian folk ensembles; and some 50,000 historical recordings dating from before 1949. You’re welcome to read it all.
