Audition Dates

On-Campus Date for Spring 2006

November 4

This audition date is reserved for applicants who wish to enroll for Spring 2006. Applications should be submitted by Oct.15 for priority consideration, but no later than Nov. 1. There will be no Percussion or French Horn auditions on this date; please contact music admissions to arrange an alternate date if percussion is primary instrument.

On-Campus Dates for Summer or Fall 2006

*only transfer applicants may audition on this date; transfer applicants may select an earlier audition date instead of this one should they be interested in receiving consideration for merit-based aid.

Orchestral Conducting Applicants who are invited to campus will be contacted shortly after December 15 to arrange an audition on one of the following dates: January 20, February 8, February 10, or February 15.

Choral Conducting Applicants who are invited to campus will be contacted shortly after January 1 to arrange an audition on one of the following dates: January 20, February 3, February 10.

Interlochen, MI: January 16
New York City, NY: February 17
Los Angeles, CA: February 21
South Florida: TBA

Please note: All voice students auditioning at a regional site must provide their own accompanist. Percussion applicants may not audition at a regional site.

Scheduling Auditions for 2006 - 2007:

Upon receipt of the Supplemental Music Application, an audition will be scheduled for you. If an audition cannot be scheduled for a regular audition day, please contact the Music Admissions Office for details on other options.

CD recordings are accepted in lieu of a live audition. However, students admitted on the basis of recordings are not guaranteed priority consideration for merit-based aid. All CD recordings should be submitted no later than February 15. If admitted on the basis of a recorded audition, one must perform before the division concerned no later than the fourth week of the first semester in residence.
