Plogs?

The Virtues of Chitchat - Making I.T. Work - CIO Magazine May 15,2004

Hmm, interesting article, interesting idea. So interesting actually that I was doing this for IT projects with Userland Frontier in 1999, back before the ‘blog’ term was coined. It works well and makes perfect sense for physically separated project/client teams. Other tools to use in a similar ‘project’ vein are wikis and bug/issue management software. See ‘Our Unique Approach’ on the Glennweb.net site.

the Goon Show

Filed under: — david glenn @ 7:45 pm

FabCat is the only semi-reliable stream of the Goon Show, the fantabulous, all-cardboard, steaming radio show from the 50’s (starring Peter Sellers, Harry Seacombe, and Spike Milligan). If you like humorous radio theatre or if you wonder where a lot of the Monty Python material came from, you should definitely give a listen.

Disclaimer: it’s hard to get work done while listening to this show, and if you use headphones at work people will also wonder what your laughing at.

Don’t be a Charlie, listen to the Goon Show.

I am switching to Bloglines as an RSS Reader. I had been using Feed but the interface is pretty bad and I haven’t the time to improve it. So it goes. Bloglines works very well and is proving and easy and reliable switch.

Google-ified

We’re getting all Googleicious around here, having signed up for both AdSense and AdWords. Time will tell how the Google advertising programs work out. Crafting useful ‘ad campaigns’ and ’search words’ seems to be a bit of a black art, more on this as things develop.
